The 2009 River Race is over and the results are in! There were some errors made in the announced times and those folks will be contacted.
Five hundred seventy five lunches were served by Elk River Touring Center, and a record number of racers participated--almost 400!
There was only one injury that required treatment at the hospital, and we would like to hear from the person who stayed by his side until help arrived so we can give you free entry next year!!
We will also make it right for Rob Schlemm, Droop Mtn Boys and Running on Empty who may have won prizes but not been recognized. Hey, don't blame me, I turned over the reins of the timing when I completely screwed it up a few years back! At least you have times!! It feels bad to make a mistake when announcing the winners, because everyone works so hard, especially those Droop Mountain Boys who have led the race for a long time.
But all's well that ends well, and we hope everyone had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful day, the exciting race and the good company and hope you will return.
